Planning Your Dream Senior Session in Dallas Fort Worth
Looking for the most beautiful places to take your senior picctures in Dallas Fort Worth? As local senior photographer I’ve explored all the spots, and I can tell you the right location is crucial to the final outcome of your senior portraits. This guide is packed with the best locations for senior pictures in DFW. While I do occasionally photograph somewhere off this list in a location that is meaningful to the client, I cannot control the outcome or lighting as well as in a location I am familiar with. Knowing what exact time light is best in each specific spot, and how the light hits differently at different times of year, lends itself to a more precise controlled outcome and aesthetic. Beautiful light can make an ordinary location appear stunning in your senior photographs, and a beautiful location with harsh light will look disappointing in portraits.
As a Dallas Fort Worth senior photographer, I love to capture a high school senior’s personality through their senior portraits. Some prefer nature and a beautiful sunset and some want the sleek design of architecture. I can help you plan your senior session by getting a good feel for your personality, the wardrobe you plan to wear, your hobbies, and the aesthetic of your home where you will display your final portraits.
Below are my favorite locations for senior pictures in Dallas Fort Worth and the surrounding areas.

Kimbell Art Museum Fort Worth
The Kimbell Art Museum is one of my favorite locations for senior portraits for those that want classic modern lines and clean architecture. It looks stunning against vibrant wardrobe choices and embraces an artistic aesthetic with it’s clean lines. The Kimbell hosts white walls, arches, water fountains and structures, light colored stone, and a variety of trees and green archways. During the holidays the trees are often lit up with sparkling lights that glimmer in the background of the portraits.
2. The Fort Worth Stockyards
Nothing embraces a classic Texas feel like the Fort Worth Stockyards. There are so many amazing spots from the beautiful cacti field, wooden architecture, and landscape around the Hotel Drover. To see a senior session at the Stockyards click here. It is a perfect location for those who want a bit of Texas coupled with rustic glam!
3. Fort Worth Botanic Garden
The beautiful Fort Worth Botanic Garden is nestled near Downtown Fort Worth and the historic TCU area. It hosts some of the most beautiful flowers, plants, trees, archways, and a wooden bridge. There is also a stunning rose garden and Japanese garden within the Botanic Gardens. Due to the lighting, this location is only useable at 8:00 am unless it is late fall after standard time begins. To see a full senior session click here. There is an $85 photography fee to photograph at this location.
4. Historic Downtown Fort Worth Sundance Square
I adore all of the architecture in Sundance Square and it lends the perfect backdrop for elegance mixed with the excitement of the city. The beautiful red brick, old buildings, traffic lights, graffiti alley way, and plethora of city landscapes make for the perfect backdrop for senior portraits. This is one of my favorite locations for both senior girls and guys wanting a city vibe.
5. Beautiful Field and Park in North Fort Worth- Northwest Community Park
This is probably my favorite nature location if someone wants a more nature asthetic for their senior portraits in the Fort Worth area. It hosts beautiful tall grass, glowing sunsets, a stone wall, and a beautiful creek/rocky area.
6. The Colleyville Nature Center
This is the perfect spot for your senior portraits if you want a manicured lawn, wooden bridge, and pond. This is a a smaller location, so easy to get in and out and perfect spot for a more intimate manicured beauty nestled in the heart of Colleyville.
8. The Lumen Room Ft Worth ($85/hr to rent)
This gorgeous white studio is nestled inside of an old historic building near Downtown Fort Worth. It hosts floor to ceiling windows, a wainscot wall, and has an airy clean feel. It is perfect for the senior who wants an indoor location against a classic neutral background.
9. Davis Park and Highland Park Village OR Flippin Park($75 travel fee-only platinum or gold package only)
Davis Park and the surrounding areas are some of my favorites for senior portraits! Nestled in the heart of Dallas in Higland Park, Davis Park is a stunning backdrop all year long. It hosts a beautiful creek, many gorgeous trees, landscaping laced with ivy, a whimsical draw bridge, a stone staircase, and walkways lined with planters. Just down the street is Highland Park Village or Flippin Park for seniors who want a second location. Highland Park Village contains classic architecture, Spanish tile stairs, a gold elevator, floral walkways in front of Love Shack Fancy, and a plethora of elegant design. A second option instead of Highand Park Village is the nearby Flippin Park with a romantic fountain, elegant gazebo, and tree lined walkways.
10. The Canals at Las Colinas ($75 travel fee-gold or platnium package only)
This gorgeous European inspired canal is perfect for seniors who want a bit of elegance with a old world flare. Situated in the heart of Las Colinas near Dallas it’s one of my favorite locations for senior portraits. There is a large canal flowing inbetween stone walls, enchanted archways, and a grand stone staircase. While not a large area, it is the perfect locaiton for those looking for a bit of charm that emits an old world asthetic.
11. The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden ($75 travel fee-gold or platinum package only)
The Dallas Arboretum is stunning at certain times of year, especially when the tulips and cherry blossomos are in bloom for a few weeks in March. There are lush green gardens, beds lined with flowers, a tree tunnel, stone stairs that lead to a sunken garden, and a variety of picturesque nooks to capture your Dallas senior portraits. Due to the garden’s hours, it is only possible to photograph there right when they open at 9:00 AM.
